Twelve plants and spices have been carefully chosen to complete the palette, each one selected for its unique aromatic properties.

  • Artemisia – The plant without which it wouldn’t be considered a Vermouth, and belonging to the Absinthe family.
  • Angelica – With an initial injection of sweetness, this plant’s aromas evolve into notes that are both sweet and bitter.
  • Cinnamon –  The bark has a characteristically warm and powerful taste.
  • Quassia Amara – The wood and bark possess an intense bitterness.
  • Ginger – The root offers flavours as sweet as they are powerful.
  • Cardamom – An aromatic plant with a lemony flavour.
  • Vine flowers – The ephemeral flower that is a Maison Villevert signature, known for its subtle and delicate aromas
  • Licorice – The smooth taste of the plant we also call “The Sweet Root.”
  • Iris root – This plant brings with it violet aromas that invigorate the other flavours with which it is blended.
  • Citrus Aurantium – More commonly known as Orange Bitters, it is used for its fresh and fruity citrus bouquet.
  • Nutmeg – A soft and round profile with a very slight bitterness.
  • Cinchona –  Known for its sour and bitter flavour.

Each one is then completed with a specific selection.

A total of 28 plants and spices are selected and uniquely balanced into the composition of La Quintinye Rouge, while a variety of 18 goes into the White, and 27 are blended into the Extra Dry.
